This description takes you thru the steps needed to get your Google Workspace environment ready to connect with LoopMeeting. Please follow the steps carefully and do not skip any of the steps described unless they are marked as optional.
LoopMeeting is an Android application preinstalled on LoopMeeting android panels. LoopMeeting communicates directly with Google Workspace thru a direct integration using Google API’s and HTTPS interface protocol with TLS 1.2 Encryption.
2. Prerequisites
You need to have an account at the roomconfig console https://lm.roomconfig.com Room Rescources needs to be present in your Google Workspace environment.
3. Create Google Workspace Service Account
Log in to Google Workspace Admin console with your Google admin account https://admin.google.com/ Go to – Directory, – Users and select “Add New User” Give the new account a name – For Example “RoomAdmin”
Create the user and reset the password for the user to set whatever password you like
3.1 Create and Assign custom role to service account
In Workspace Admin console go to – Account, – Admin Roles and select “Create new role”
Give the new role a name and description. For example, like shown below. and click “Continue”
Select “Read” under “Users” and click “Continue” then confirm “Create Role”
Select “Assign members” and select the service account you created. Then click “Assign Role”
4 Assign calendar privileges to service account
Log into your Google Calendar Application, make sure you log in with Google Admin account
In the left menu select the “+” behind “Other Calendars” and select “Browse Resources”
Select all the resources where you like to use a Meetingroom Panel, then go back to calendar view.
Select the resource calendar and click on the three “dots”, then select “Settings and Sharing”
Make sure “Timezone” is set correctly and scroll down to “Share with specific people or groups” Then Add the service account, and give it “Make Changes and manage sharing” privileges.
Repeat this step for all the rescources
5 Register Google application and add server to RoomConfig
Log into Roomconfig console https://lm.roomconfig.com Select Server Settings and click on “Google App Registration” Log in with Google Admin account and Grant access to the requested API’s
Click continue, then tick “Select All” then continue again. Application will now be granted necessary access to your tenant.
Click “Add Server” and select Google Workspace
Log in with your Google service account and select continue.
