All widgets have a subcategory of settings called “Display Settings.” Here, you can quickly define three different aspects for displaying a widget:
Duration of a widget, i.e., how long the widget will be displayed before switching to the next widget in the timeline.
Scheduling of a widget, i.e., planning which time slots the widget will be displayed on the screen.
Display of a widget on multiple screens, i.e., publishing the widget to multiple screens beyond the one you are editing.
1 Duration: The default duration for each widget is 15 seconds. To adjust the duration of a widget, select the widget you want to adjust the duration for, then open the Display Settings for the widget. Adjust it to the desired duration.
Please noteIn widgets with multiple images (as in the video example above), the duration is set per image. The total duration of the widget will therefore be the duration set for each image, multiplied by the number of images in the widget.
2
Scheduling: Plan when the widget should be displayed on the screen. The default setting for scheduling is “Not set,” which means the widget will always be shown until it is manually removed or deactivated.
If none of the three automatic options for active scheduling are suitable, you can select “Custom.” A new option, “Edit scheduling,” will appear, which you can click to define in detail when the widget should be displayed.
TipFor custom scheduling, both the time period and the weekly calendar can be used separately or in combination. If you only set the time period(s) without defining anything in the weekly calendar, the widget will be shown every day, 24/7, during the set time period(s).
If you only define days and/or time intervals in the weekly calendar without setting start/end dates in the time period, the widget will be displayed on those defined days and time intervals every week in the future, until the widget is removed or deactivated.
3
Cross-publishing: By default, a new widget will be published on the screen you are editing, but widgets can be published to other screens without needing to enter the screen editor for each screen.
Click on “On one screen” in the widget settings and select “On multiple screens.” Then scroll all the way down in the widget settings to reveal the new options that appear, and select which screens you want to publish the widget to.
Please noteIn order to publish widgets to multiple screens this way, the relevant screens must be running the same predefined template. A widget can thus be published to other screens than the one you’re editing, only if the screen you’re editing and the other screens you also want to publish the widget to, are using the same locked template.
See here for a guide on how to create and edit new screens with and without templates.
4 Remember to click “Save” at the end to keep the changes you made. The changes will manifest on the connected physical screen(s) within 15 minutes.
