Screens in LoopSign can be created and run without a template, or they can be created and run with a predefined, locked template. It is very easy to create and edit a new screen in LoopSign.
InfoThe big advantage of screens without a template is that you can freely define different screen areas in terms of size and placement. This is the most flexible option. The big advantage of screens with a predefined template is that you can easily publish widgets on multiple screens if they use the same predefined template. (See point 3 in the guide here.) Screens with a predefined template are also generally easier to use and manage, as they have clear and fixed boundaries for content in terms of screen placement and size.
1a. Add screen without template
Go to the screen overview on your LoopSign account and open the screen group where you want to add a new screen.
Click on “Add screen.”
Click on “Create screen without template.”
Give the new screen a name and click “Save” at the bottom.
1b. Edit screen without template
In the screen editor for a screen without a template, there is a column with different widget types to the left of the screen itself. Click and drag the desired widget type onto the screen, then scale the size as desired. Modify the widget settings in the widget settings panel to the right of the screen so that the widgets have the content and appearance you want.
2a. Add screen with template
Go to the screen overview on your LoopSign account and open the screen group where you want to add a new screen.
Click on “Add screen.”
Click on “Create screen from predefined template.”
Give the new screen a name and click “Save” at the bottom.
TipIt is possible to create your own predefined template. This is done by creating a screen without a template, and then clicking on “Save as template for the company” once you are satisfied with the layout of the screen areas. This self-created template will then be available for selection in the list of templates for new screens from a predefined template.
2b. Edit screen with template
In the screen editor, the new screen with a template is empty of content, but it is set up with predefined screen areas (in line with the selected template) where you can add widgets. Click in the fields and add and customize content as desired.
3. Edit the screen’s general settings
Click on the gear icon next to “Save” to open the screen’s general settings. Here you can, for example, set the default font, language, and background.
4. Save
Remember to click “Save” at the end to keep the changes you made. The changes will manifest on the connected physical screen(s) within 15 minutes.
